Governance Structure and Administration
Elerin-in-council under the sovereignty of Elerin-Osun has always rule the community. Basically Elerin of Erin-Osun being the Paramount Traditional ruler of the town, is the custodian of customs, traditions and the symbol of authority. Though administration and modern system of governance had weakened the traditional system, the Elerin of Erin-Osun still carry out the administration of the town with the council of chiefs. The past rulers were:
- Oba Oyagbodun
- Oba Laojo
- Oba Abegunde
- Oba Adewuyi
- Oba Adeosun Oyebode
Today the town is blessed with a very dynamic, focus, purposeful and progressive ruler, the incumbent Kabiyesi, Elerin of Erin has been on the throne since June 15th 1979.
The Spirit of Self Help and Cooperation
The traditional team spirit of self-help and cooperation deeply rooted in communal efforts led to the formation of a local organization or society known as “BAJEPADE SOCIETY IN 1914, this later metamorphosed to Egbe Atunluse, Erin-Osun and now known as Erin-Osun Progressive Union.
Through this organization many developmental projects were done by the community, such as road construction, building of schools, market, place of worship, Health Centres and Community Town Hall. Today branches of the Erin-Osun Progressive Union (E.P.U) are located in different parts of the country.
